National Resource Center on Nutrition and Aging

The National Resource Center on Nutrition and Aging, a cooperative initiative of the Administration on Aging (AoA) and the Meals On Wheels Association of America (MOWAA), is designed to assist the AoA and aging network of organizations, such as local nutrition programs as well as national associations and state and regional agencies involved with aging, in the implementation of the nutrition portions of the Older Americans Act.

Goals of the Resource Center

The Resource Center will help build the future of senior nutrition services by:

  • Promoting modernization, program excellence and service quality.
  • Strengthening the support and integration of senior nutrition services within broader community, state and national systems.
  • Demonstrating the value of senior nutrition services to independence, health and quality of life.

Major Activities and Initiatives

  • Curate an up-to-date, comprehensive collection of resources for those in the senior nutrition field.
  • Develop webinars, other trainings and materials that promote business acumen, entrepreneurship, collaboration and partnerships.
  • Facilitate discussion and information exchange, building on the August 2012 Perspectives on Nutrition and Aging: A National Summit to develop a blueprint and framework for the modernization of senior nutrition services within the context of the aging network.
